Sriya Sundaresan to step down as TransitionZero Co-CEO

London, UK, 23 August, 2022: TransitionZero announces that Sriya Sundaresan will step down from her role as Co-CEO.

Sundaresan, who co-founded TransitionZero in 2020 with Matt Gray, will leave the organisation after two years in order to focus on new climate projects.

Sundaresan and Gray have been joint CEOs since the organisation’s inception, having co-founded TransitionZero in 2020 after jointly running the Power & Utilities team at Carbon Tracker. Following Sundaresan’s departure, Gray will take on the role of sole CEO with support from the TransitionZero team and the board.

Commenting on her departure, Sundaresan said:

“Co-founding and growing TransitionZero have been some of my greatest career highlights to date and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the last two years. From launching world-class data and analytics that are actively influencing policy and financial decision-makers, to building a supportive, progressive working culture, to launching the Al Gore and Google.org backed Climate TRACE coalition and being nominated for the UK’s StartUp Awards, the organisation’s impact so far has been exceptional and is a testament to the inspiring team we have built. After leading the organisation for two wonderful years, I leave knowing TransitionZero is in good hands. I’m excited to explore new opportunities and to continue working on solutions to the climate crisis.”

Commenting on Sundaresan’s departure, Gray said:

“TransitionZero simply wouldn’t be the organisation it is today without Sriya. We are sad to see her go, but we are also incredibly grateful for her contributions over the last two years. The impact she’s had both on the organisation and in the industry as a whole shows that she is a force to be reckoned with. We wish her every success and are looking forward to seeing what she does next.”
