Coal Asset Transition Tool
Open data for coal assets in the Philippines

TZ-CAT Philippines
TZ-CAT Philippines encompasses all 58 operational coal units in the Philippines, drawing from information collected from 209 power supply agreements (PSAs) which represent approximately 65% to 75% of coal generation.
It estimates the "cost of immediate buy-out," for remaining PSAs, and the "cost of early retirement," where the buy-out period is limited to a maximum of five years.
In addition, TZ-CAT evaluates long-term profitability, the remaining lifespan of each asset, the levelised cost of transitioning to clean power sources, and the potential job losses resulting from the closure of each coal unit.
