London, (December 16, 2025) - TransitionZero has been recognised by the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) with a DOE Sustainable Energy Award, acknowledging the organisation’s contributions to advancing clean, sustainable, and inclusive energy solutions in the Philippines.

TransitionZero has been awarded a Sustainable Energy Award by the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) in recognition of its technical and policy support to the Philippines’ clean energy transition, particularly its contributions to strengthening long-term power sector planning through open, data-driven analysis and systems modelling.

The award was presented at the DOE Sustainable Energy Awards ceremony held on 16 December 2025 at the Makati Shangri-La in Makati City. The DOE Sustainable Energy Awards Selection Committee cited TransitionZero’s technical assistance and policy support as playing a crucial role in strengthening the country’s renewable energy landscape and supporting national energy goals.

Through its open-source datasets and energy systems models, TransitionZero has worked closely with the DOE and other stakeholders to improve access to timely, actionable energy data and to support evidence-based decision-making. This work has helped inform long-term planning across the power sector, contributing to a more reliable, affordable, and resilient energy system.

Accepting the award on behalf of TransitionZero, Head of Engagement - Southeast Asia, Isabella Suarez highlighted the importance of systems modelling and data accessibility in accelerating the energy transition.

“At TransitionZero, systems modelling is at the heart of our work. It helps us see how technologies, markets, and policies interact; how choices in one part of the system ripple across others; and how we can design pathways that deliver reliability, affordability, and resilience. The DOE’s openness to such analysis has allowed us to contribute meaningfully, and we are very grateful for that trust.

Looking ahead, we see even greater opportunity. The transition is accelerating, and with it come new challenges: the rapid rise of electric vehicles, data center demand, the urgency of transmission buildout, and the growing realities of curtailment and congestion. These are signs of a system evolving, expanding, and preparing for a renewable-powered future.

We hope TransitionZero’s tools and modelling can continue supporting the DOE and other energy stakeholders as we navigate this next chapter. ”
